We’re delighted to confirm the date for the North West Combined Events championships as Saturday and Sunday 20th and 21st of August 2022 at Wavertree Stadium, Liverpool.
It’s a project we’ve worked on for a while now in conjunction with leading CE coaches in the North West as a major event in their calendars to prepare and develop their athletes.
Two full days of top class open CE competition for all age groups from U13 to Senior, male and female. This competition will include a number of North West County championships, details to be confirmed later. Using the best facilities and equipment, top class North West officials, electronic distance measuring equipment as well as top quality photo-finish equipment, our aim is to stage a high class event that accommodates all CE athletes looking for worthwhile competition.
The change of date from our expectations has been forced by the radical changes to the calendar next year that England Athletics have dictated to accommodate the Commonwealth Games. We’re sure you have been hearing about the issue from Leagues and regions trying to deal with them.
We’re delighted that this slot became free as it fits comfortably with the Schools CE dates as well as almost all other schools, league and national championships. These are the criteria we will use in subsequent years to determine the most useful date. Most importantly of all it will act as a showcase for the excellent and updated facilities at the stadium which in our opinion make it the best CE venue in the country.
We can’t wait to get going and will keep you informed on here over the next few weeks about how to enter, what the pricing will be, what scheduling will look like across the weekend, what links and offers we can make available for accommodation and every facet of the weekend which will make your attendance a terrific experience.
